An African Safari is only an hour away from Toronto

There's still time to head to an African Safari reserve before they close for the winter. Open until October 13, the African Lion Safari, a mere hour away from Toronto, holds all the wonders of Africa and tickets costs $23.95 for adults. You drive through the reserve with your doors closed and your windows shut and you can see grazing giraffes, playful monkeys, exotic birds and majestic lions. Or you can join a bus tour for an additional fee. There are live performances as well with titles like Parrot Paradise Show, Birds of Prey Flying Demonstration, and Elephant Round-Up and you can even watch the Elephant Swim in the recreational lake. Want to eat in the reserve? There are picnic areas you can use. I liked the "African Queen" boat tour. They have a railway called the "Nature Boy” and Misumu Bay water play area for the kids.
