Can you pronounce Czehoski?

Well it doesn't matter how you pronounce the name. Located in the hip Queen Street West area, Czehoski (cha-hos-key) carries that traditional Polish/Czech restaurant feel with a twist - on the ground-floor is the dining area while an elegant lounge upstairs modernizes the ambiance (or head out to the rooftop garden patio in the summer).

The appetizers come in small or big plates (latter being my preference which can actually be a meal if you're a light eater) with ample choices like Oyster boy mollusk du moment with champagne vinegar pickled horseradish or Flammekuche (french pizza) with smoked ricotta, duck bacon, shallots on a thin crust. The Cambazola, rapini and barley risotto carrot olive oil and paprika veloute is a nice dinner entree as well as the Albacore tuna dusted with semolina, heirloom tomato puttanesca sauce, sauteed basil and spinach. A dessert of Praline semifeddo with caramelized honey and vin cotto rounds up the evening. They have a large selection of beers and wines to cap your meal. It's not too cold to bring your friends to Czehoski and the last one who could properly pronounce the restaurant's name gets to pay the bill.
