Disney On Ice glides into Toronto December 19-28 to the Rogers Centre with Disney On Ice presents a Disneyland Adventure. Here's a Q&A with Canadian performer Richard Stringer, from Bowmanville, Ontario. Stringer began skating at age 4 and has been performing for 27 years

WHY DID YOU START SKATING/PERFORMING?
To improve skills for hockey and for the fun of it.

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS/HOBBIES/FAVORITE PASTIME?
Guitar, soapstone carving, playing with my son

WHAT'S YOU GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
Convincing my wife to marry me.

WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS?
Enjoy my life.

WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR FREQUENT TRAVELERS?
Purchase multi-tasking devices, i.e. a cell phone with a day planner, alarm clock, mp3 player, movie viewer, games WiFi, camera, etc.—all in one unit. Also, GSM (i.e. Sim Card) phone can be unlocked and used all over the world with a local SIM card

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO KIDS WHO HAVE A DREAM/DESIRE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE SKATING/PERFORMING?
Skate/perform while you can still do it.


IF YOU WEREN’T PERFORMING, WHAT MIGHT YOU BE DOING FOR A LIVING?
Performing somewhere else.
