It's 0'C outside today and my daily routine of exercising outdoors (walking/running through the park for example) needs to move indoors so I don't freeze as much. So its time to check out gyms. Are you looking for a gym while in town? The Y (YMCA, YWCA) is a global brand and in Toronto, their many facilities will suit your needs and they even have newcomer services for immigrants and tourists alike including housing services, social services, job postings, child care and more than a normal gym would offer. Newcomer services are available at these locations.
Extreme Fitness and Goodlife Fitness are two popular ones as well. They have many locations with facilities that include swimming pools, weight rooms, classrooms, health and wellness consultations, etc. My criteria for being motivated to be at the gym often? Proximity to my home, facilities that I personally will use (weight room, cardio) and of course price. Not everyone has my criteria so once you've identified what you need from a gym, then start checking these out. Just because its cold outside, doesn't mean we have to hibernate.
