One Minute Film Festival @ Bloor Cinema

The One Minute Film and Video Festival was founded in 2003, as the result of a dare among lapsed-filmmaker friends in Toronto. The idea is to complete a project with imposed time and subject-matter restrictions, in order to make it easier to get motivated. Much like the 3-Day Novel, the time restriction puts a premium on creativity. One Minute Film and Video festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to create and screen new work based around a common theme; this year being secrets. Encouraging a broad interpretation of this theme filmmakers can use whatever film medium they want to use for their entries. With around fifty movies coming from all over the globe there's a generous number coming from Toronto and Ontario in general. The titles of their films are as follows:

A Secret to Happiness, Beijing 2007, Ben: A Legacy in Pictures, Broken Phones, Celeste, Childish Thoughts, Coming Out of Context, Conversation, Cravings!, Dave Foley vs. The Hulks, Dave Foley and Fans: the 2nd Sequel, Deer-Leg Nun-Chuks, Dolly Gossip, Grimoire, Honesty Box, Ice9, Next to Godliness, Postering: Reading the Secrets of the City, Spoiler Warning, Starbase (video below), The Inquisitive Snail, This Thing is Bigger than the Both of Us: The Secret of String, This Thing is Bigger than the Both of Us: These Are Facts, and Umhambi.
